I was looking for some social cosplaying communities here on LJ and I hope you don't mind that I joined! I don't live in the UK, but I do live in the Netherlands... Which is close enough, right? hahaha.

Most of the communities I looked into weren't so much social and instead were all about buying and selling... Which I have no interest in, because I'm planning to make my own work and all I want is a place to post for help or to just share, and perhaps coordinate some conventions or something.

I'm new to this whole thing, although I've known how to (hand) sew for a while now. I've just begun learning knitting and crocheting, and I've bought a million books on hand crafts. I think I'm prepared, haha! All that's left is practice. I really want to put 200% effort into this hobby.

At the moment, I'm looking to cosplay Johnny Joestar from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Unforunately, I'm afraid I'm very interested in creating all of the outfits he's worn in the series... So I'll probably be sticking with him for a while!

The benefits of this, besides him being my favourite character of all time, is that I'm told I look exactly like him. I already have his haircut (albeit, I need to get it trimmed as it's getting too long) too, so I won't need to spend money on a wig and try to learn how to style it.

I'm afraid I don't have any spectacular comparison images, but I'll give it a shot:

Here are two other examples of the character and the first outfit I want to make:

[ An almost full body ]

I'll be attending TsunaCon in January and ChibiCon in July here in the Netherlands, but I don't believe I'll have this ready by then.
