I am a newbie at cosplaying and meetups, i have never done any of this before so i was hopeing people could let me know if there are any meetups or picniks planned or if anyone wants to plan one?
I have heard so much about meetups being fun so i'd love my first one to be memorable and epic!!!
I would also love to meet and make some new friends who
can show me the ropes haha. And so you know to make this easier i live in cannock but can travel to Nottingham, Telford and London
So events in thoses areas would be appreciated.

So if you guys could help me out i will love you forever  ^-^

Is anyone going to London MCM expo in october?
Because i really really want to get together a Final fantasy VII cosplay group.
I know there are many big groups already, but i wanted a smaller, more friendly one. ^3^

I will be cosplaying Advent Children Tifa, but it doesn't matter if there are more than one! ^___^

One Piece Cosplay Group? [Jul. 17th, 2010|12:09 am]

Okay so this is just on the off-chance... I'm going to post at some message boards so you might hear this a few times if you frequent those kinds of sites.

For the October 2010 Expo in London I'm really interested in doing a One Piece Strong World cosplay (and yeah, I know its not subtitled or anything yet) but I think it would be amazing if I could somehow assemble a group to do their costumes.

Personally I've never properly cosplayed before but I'd love to give it a go, especially because my mum has been sewing for over thirty years and she's actually awesome with a sewing machine. I'm probably best suited to doing Nico Robin because I have exactly the same hairstyle (its a bit longer but meh), and the same eyes and stuff so... yeah. I appreciate that some people might not be able to get the fabric and whatever needed for it thanks to financial issues or just not being able to make the October Expo (however if it is a problem with fabric, I can recommend some great sites that sell a wide array of material for really low prices as my mother and I ourselves live on Jobseeker's Allowance and child support =.=).

I'd just really like to see if anyone else would be interested at all in doing a One Piece Strong World cosplay ^o^ The biggest issue I could probably see would be the fucking giant guns they have in that movie, though we might find them cheap on the net, or we could get away without them. Or we could even make them! Maybe... xD;I only know a couple of guys who cosplayed Sanji and Zoro the October before last and I don't even really speak to them that much anymore >.> So a cosplay group would be awesome.

Introduction and questions about london expo [Mar. 20th, 2010|02:31 pm]
Cosplay in the UK & Europe!

I have just found this community so I thought I would post and introduce myself! My name is Lucy Edkins and I love cosplaying!
I live in stratford upon avon and attend meets and expos :) However I am thinking of going to the london expo in may and it's going to be my first time going to a london expo (normally it's too far away so I go to the telford expos) . I was wondering what is the cheapest or best hotel to stay at? and what is the cheapest way to get there via public transport?

Here are some of my cosplays if you feel like checking them out: http://luckylucy73.deviantart.com/

thanks x

Ok... about three minutes ince my last post since im a bit of a loser.
But is anyone cosplaying from vampire knight to may expo?
If so would you all like to meet up for a photoshoot? The more variety the better.
Because there are always masses of Dgray man and Bleach ( I love them both) but how amazing would it be for vampire knight????
let me know :3

Im a live journal newbie, but I am a lunatic for cosplay.
I have cosplayed to london expo 4 times, and love both custom and mail order :3
Does this group affiliate with london expo or other cons????

Hey, another new member [Dec. 13th, 2009|11:55 am]
Cosplay in the UK & Europe!

I was looking for some social cosplaying communities here on LJ and I hope you don't mind that I joined! I don't live in the UK, but I do live in the Netherlands... Which is close enough, right? hahaha.

Most of the communities I looked into weren't so much social and instead were all about buying and selling... Which I have no interest in, because I'm planning to make my own work and all I want is a place to post for help or to just share, and perhaps coordinate some conventions or something.

I'm new to this whole thing, although I've known how to (hand) sew for a while now. I've just begun learning knitting and crocheting, and I've bought a million books on hand crafts. I think I'm prepared, haha! All that's left is practice. I really want to put 200% effort into this hobby.

At the moment, I'm looking to cosplay Johnny Joestar from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Unforunately, I'm afraid I'm very interested in creating all of the outfits he's worn in the series... So I'll probably be sticking with him for a while!

The benefits of this, besides him being my favourite character of all time, is that I'm told I look exactly like him. I already have his haircut (albeit, I need to get it trimmed as it's getting too long) too, so I won't need to spend money on a wig and try to learn how to style it.

I'm afraid I don't have any spectacular comparison images, but I'll give it a shot:

Johnny JoestarCollapse )

Me, testing lipstick and the unpainted horseshoeCollapse )

Here are two other examples of the character and the first outfit I want to make:
[ The best full body I could remember ]
[ An almost full body ]

I'll be attending TsunaCon in January and ChibiCon in July here in the Netherlands, but I don't believe I'll have this ready by then.

New person here
Was just wondering if there happened to be any Torchwood/Doctor Who cosplayers in the Birmingham area who were in need of a Captain Jack or a Ianto Jones?
Or just a general group of cosplayers that i can just hop along next time you meet and say hi
Because the few groups I have found tend to be only people cosplaying as anime/manga characters, and I don't want to seem out of place.

If anyone can be of any help i would be most grateful :)
